Pharmacists need to pay attention not to dispense wrong medicines and to manage product lots correctly. They have found their own ways to achieve them: cutting out the names of medicines from packaging to make them into name plates on shelves, and bundling the lot number part together with PTP sheets (*1) using rubber bands, for instance.
On this packaging, information such as a name of a medicine, a production lot number and expiration date are included in
one separable part and framed with perforation. It helps pharmacists conduct their dispensing tasks more efficiently and avoid mistakes such as dispensing incorrect medicines.
Note *1: "PTP" stands for "Press Through Package." Generally, a PTP sheet is composed of a thin metal sheet such as aluminum and a plastic sheet that are combined to shape cavities for each tablet or capsule.
