History

Over 150 Years Since Our Founding in Toyama, Known for its Pharmaceuticals "Asahi" in Japan and the World

Asahi Printing was founded in 1872, originally as Ozawa Print Shop, and established in 1946 as Asahi Printing Paper Packaging Co., Ltd. In the early 1960s, we leveraged the location of Toyama, an area known for its medications, to establish a unique position as a supplier of printing packaging for home-delivered medicines, which is a leading local industry. We then expanded our pharmaceutical packaging business nationwide by establishing operational sites in major cities across Japan.

In the late 1970s, the company expanded into the cosmetics packaging sector. While achieving steady growth, we opened the Toyama Plant in 1989, followed by the Toyama Second Plant, East Plant, and South Plant in the 2000s. In 2015, we established the Kyoto Creative Park, dedicated to new technology research and development, further strengthening our business foundation in Japan. Additionally, in 2018, we welcomed a Malaysian printing company into our group, marking the start of our international business and taking a bold step toward the future.
